I was in Pet Valu in St Thomas last night and the lady working mentioned that the city dog catcher told her he had picked up 2 greys at Waterworks park over the weekend. Apparently, they both appeared to be older dogs and both were in terrible shape..The dog catcher thought that they may have been dumped by their owner. I was just wondering if anyone might have heard about this or knew if someone was missing 2 of their 4 legged friends. I'd hate to think that someone would intentionally let them run off. Debbie

Oh no! Perhaps you could call the pound in St. Thomas and verify this and then give the info to Bill. I imagine he would be interested in taking them in if they aren't reunited right away with their owners. Is it a kill shelter? Please post your findings right away so we make sure these two babies find their homes one way or another. We can post the info on tatoos on Greytalk once we have things confirmed.

Bill picked up the two at the St. Thomas shelter on Mon. They are 10 years old. Roni, a black girl and Kerry, a red girl. They are skinny but very sweet little girls. If we didn't already have a house full, we would have brought them home. Hopefully, somebody else will fall in love with them and give them a greyt home!

Good grief! Who would dump seniors like that? Makes me ill. I'm so glad Bill picked them up - yay Bill! Hoping to see some pics real soon!

I havent had a chance to get back here to check the post but now that I have I'm very glad that Bill managed to rescue these 2 girls. I'll never understand what people are thinking. I'm so grateful for Bill and Freddie. Thanks for letting me know they're safe.

Awww geez. I hate to hear stuff like this, regardless of breed. Is there any way to track the owner thru the tattoos?

Bill is a bigger, better person than I am, that's for certain. I would have a VERY difficult time, preventing myself from acting rashly, inappropriately, if I knew the identity of the culprits responsible for such a despicable, heinous deed. I would probably end up in deep doodoo, which wouldn't help the poor dogs any. Thank goodness for sane, sensible, responsible people like Bill, who take the appropriate actions and concentrate on helping the dogs, which, in the end, really is the goal, isn't it? I mean, you probably can't educate people like those idiots who dumped the good old girls; they are reprehensible and their actions are unconscionable. Trying to reach them, to find a spark of humanity, of common decency, inside their ice cold, stone hearts, would be like banging your head against a brick wall. You can't win for losing. Thank you, Bill. And best wishes to Roni and Kerry.

In the end that kind of approach usually does the situation more harm than good. And no one ever takes a trash mouth seriously...I have to learn to swear without actually swearing.

Does anyone know if these two girls have been adopted?

Both Kerry and Roni are still at the kennel and unadopted.
