hi everyone- i know we discussed shedding for a while there, but wanted to know if your greys have stopped yet, and if not, then does anyone have any idea when it will? sy's behind is almost all bald - don't know if it's diet or just shedding for the season. we're still feeding him what bill recommended when we first got him - pro plan beef and rice - and he didn't shed for the first month, but it's now ridiculous. any ideas? thanks- lisa

sorry, no ideas from me! Kiki went through a big shed but has since stopped except for the usual amount. Some dogs are just shedders though and maybe Sy's one of them. I would say if you can to put him on a higher quality food - I'm a huge Solid Gold fan but also Nature's Variety, Wellness, Wysong, Evo or raw. He may have an allergy to something in the food but I'd also just take a quick trip to the vet just to be sure it's nothing medical. I'm paranoid though Good luck and hope you've got a good vacuum cleaner!

Roman has been a crazy shedder this summer!! I thought it was the seasonal changes at first, but he's still dry and shedding. We have a dehumidifier running all the time, so I think it might be the dry air that's causing it. Maybe if you are running the AC alot that would also cause it? Try supplements like fish oil too, which should help (although Roman's on it and it doesn't seem to be helping with shedding right now...)

It looks as though the shedding has stopped- a least looks like it. Back to normal and Sy is soft as velvet again. Yumm City!!! ;D
Oh...and the vacuum cleaner is on 1x a day mode again. It should only get better until the next shed.

I'm not so lucky. Because of the traffic in our house last weekend (we had 12 people and 5 dogs staying here total), both Icarus and Atlas are shedding like crazy... where is all the hair coming from!!! LOL Not that I mind. They get right fluffy when they blow a coat.

Chase isn't so much of a shedder....but if we go 2 or more days without his fish oil, he's SUPER flaky! anyone else's dog on the flaky side?

Yup, Roman's "a flake" ;D
If he goes without his supplement for even a week he gets dandruffy, and the weather affects his coat too quite easily...and the a/c!

Yup, Dave's shedding has subsided considerably. Jack (no undercoat) but also very sheddy, has also calmed down a great deal. Stuey's the least sheddy of the bunch so he's always been ok.

Tigger never stops shedding. I sometimes think I should save the hair and make a new Tigger out of it. Abby hardly sheds, she had her summer shed last week and its over now.
