What's Woofstock? I've been looking for ways to interact with other greyhound owners, so I thought I should check the events page here!

It's already passed for 2011 so now you have a year to plan for it!

Woofstock was lots of fun (I'm certain GRA picnic was moreso since of course it's all greys ) but there were greyhounds at Woofstock too - I finally put some faces to names of some board members! FYI Woofstock is small dog heaven, though there are lots of big dogs too. Dogs in strollers, dogs in dresses, dogs in pants, dogs in hats, dogs with sunglasses, dogs with mohawks, dogs with daisies shaved into them and dyed purple (I kid you not), dogs in what I am sure are supposed to be slings for babies, and the list goes on. Definitely not an event to be missed if you can make the trip! ETA: Yes I took my camera with me - no I did not remember to charge the battery in advance. Yes I had the charger with me and plugged it in that night - no I did not remember to unplug it from the wall the next day !

There's a winter one too!
Unfortunately, that's a loooong trip to make for us.

Winter Woofstock was GROSS. People apparently were letting their dogs poop indoors, on the CARPETED walkways. Sometimes, it wasn't even picked up. Male dogs were lifting their legs all over the place, particularly on the decorative trees. I was so disgusted. Besides the fact that there were few sighthound vendors, it was just too revolting to want to ever go back.

Besides the fact that there were few sighthound vendors, it was just too revolting to want to ever go back. It is unfortunate, but I am in total agreement. I couldn't believe the amount of people that were letting their dogs poop and pee wherever the heck they wanted, made no attempts to stop it from happening and didn't pick up after their pets. For that reason, along with the difficulty maneuvering around, I also would not go back. I wish I had nicer things to say about it.
