When you are weighing out how much to feed them per day, does this include bones...say 2 pounds per day of food, this includes bone and all? I'm in the process of switching to my own raw as opposed to a raw mix I had been buying and paying alot for. With all 3 on raw it'll be lots cheaper to buy it myself and of course I'm a bit worried to change as they're all doing very well on the Nature's Instinct but the cost is ridiculous. Thanks for any help,

I also feed each boy 2 lbs per day. 1 lb of mix in the morning and 1 lb of meat/bones included in the eve. The mix is reasonable from "raw for pets" and they are both doing very well on this for over a year now.

Just out of curiosity, I went to that website, too. As I'm not a raw feeder, the only price & item I'm familiar with is the dehydrated tendons. That company is selling them for $2.95/each. Awesome-Paws/Camp Greyhound sells them for $12 for a dozen ($1/each) and the price per each goes down as you buy more. Might be worth it to explore their raw meat pricing?

yes, I'm certainly checking out all sources. For a pre made mix it's always going to cost a bit more for the convenience. I do need to get something cheaper than what this has been costing, Around $ 30.00 for 6 pounds which is ridiculously expensive to feed 3 dogs with.

yes, absolutely. I feed 3 too but for a long time now I've bought the majority of it from Karen (campgreyhound) she brings it to easy delivery points on a regular basis and you get to take advantage of her buying power. It's all government inspected meat and she knows her suppliers. If you buy prepared raw diets, it really defeats another nice part of feeding raw, which is taking advantage of sale prices where ever you shop, whenever you feel like it. Try it, you'll like it!

I have been getting my supplies from Karen at awesome paws and it is easy and affordable...sometimes will get chicken on my own wherever cheaper and but the mix organ meat and treats are wonderful. any questions she answers and takes the guess work out

I've done pretty well from specials at the grocery stores, especially United Grocery where pigs feet were $.89/lb last week. Jasper eats about 2 lbs/day split between muscle and meaty bones. He has been eating a fair bit of pork because of deals recently.
