I will be moving to Amherstburg in June and was wondering if anyone has any good sources for Raw in Essex County?
Appreciate any sources you might have!

Can't really help you with raw feeding, but I went to school in Windsor for 7 years...Amherstburg is lovely. Make sure you check out Colasanti's if you are into gardening, it isn't too far of a drive from there and well worth it...but, I too wish you weren't moving away.

Thanks Lotsoffreetime - you are very right! I grew up in Windsor and left for work, but I have decided to retire, so heading back. Shari, at the rate of this thread, I will be coming home to buy raw regularly and visit !!

Yes it's my understanding that you can't buy raw in Essex county anywhere! Therefore you must make the trek back to this side of the world Seriously though I will keep my ears open for any leads! Congratulations on retirement - means more time to deal with your 3 dogs!

Thanks vikiberry! I dropped by there and picked up some of their brochures. Think it is expensive, but certainly worth reading and checking out!

Have you checked out the supplier list on the Lepus Sighthound website? Use the menu at the left if you don't get the list. It is huge, so be prepared to do some scrolling. Not sure how updated it is, but I have used it in the past and it covers all of Ontario. lepusreg.tripod.com/NRS.htmlAlso, if you want to hook up with raw feeders in your area, you can join the CanadianRawPetSupply group and search through the postings. Don't know how helpful that will be. pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/CanadianRawPetSupply/You are never going to get cheap food with the petstore stuff, it is best to find bulk suppliers/farms, etc Do you have a Farmer's Market? I have gotten some great dog bones from some of the local vendors there.

Thanks Redhead! I found one good one so far and will call them today - in Leamington, so not far! I am really looking for the meaty bones part of their meal, so the pet stores are not the alternative for that, but always good to know where you can buy a mix if in need!

How close to the boarder are you? We go to the states to get all the raw food we need. It's alot cheaper and no troubles bringing it back to Canada. Chicken is only 49 cents lb, can't get a better price than that. good luck Bronwyn
