The boys have this disgusting habit of peeing on each other on their walks,so I am planning a backyard dog wash for them this weekend. Does anyone have a favorite doggie shampoo that works well? I try to use all natural stuff but am willing to try anything another greyhound parent likes and uses. Any tips/stories about backyard grey bathing? I know I should use warm water regardless the temperature outside...
Any tips on how to get them to stop peeing on each other (besides tugging on the leash, which can't be good for the neck)?

I use either a puppy shampoo or an oatmeal shampoo. It keep dandruff down and is less harsh on their skin. I've used regular dog shampoos that ended up causing horrible dandruff and dry coats on them... I felt so bad because they were itchy from it. Use Lukewarm water to bathe them (indoors or out); if not a little on the cooler side. It helps prevent "fainting" when you wash them. They feel heat and cold much differently than we do. As for peeing.. that was a big problem with us too. What I taught them is to "watch it". So rather than deter the pee-er, I deter the pee-ee. LOL It seems like with these guys, once they start to pee, you can't stop them. Now when one boy goes pee and the other wants to sniff the same spot (or vice-versa), I say "watch it" and the potential pee-ee moves out of the way Good Luck with that one, it took me several months to drill it in. In the meantime, I used a lot of dry bath wipes.

These guys have been doing it since I got them but it seems to be getting bad lately, sometimes if Murphy can't get to the tree Chevy is peeing on he just pees on Chevy! I have been using my sleeves to wipe the pee off (usually their face) but now that summer is here again my sleeves are alot shorter!

I'm with Jiffer on the shampoo. Ran into the same problems with my bridge baby with regular dog shampoos so will not use them at all on these guys! Oatmeal based shampoos are also known to moisture the skin and reduce itching & shedding and with the way these 2 shed, I need all the help I can get. Katz tries to pee on Brin all the time. Originally I thought it was just an accident but now I am beginning to wonder I use pretty well the same command as Jiffer on Brin (Brin, watch out!) and she knows to move, and quick Katz also tends to pee on his own feet and he has white socks! It's embarrassing when he does that on a walk and I get stopped by a neighbor before I can get him home to wash him off but I'll be using Jiffer's wipes suggestion ~ thanks for the greyt tip!

Kiki has peed on Taylor. She went in for a squat and he went over and lifted his leg and peed on her butt. Gross! It only happened once but you just never know when the mood will strike again!
I use a totally amazing shampoo by Shea Pet - it's a Shea Butter shampoo with oatmeal and lanolin and a Tee Tree after shampoo spray. I also use Solid Gold shampoo and their Jojoba Oil conditioner which works right at the skin level. Totally amazing stuff! I also have purchased the oatmeal ones from the Vet which are good but got nothing on the shiny coat of the Shea Pet. I only know of one place in Toronto that sells it though (on Danforth) called Small Creatures Pet boutique or something close to that. It's at Danforth & Broadview area. I will warn you though....it's disgustingly expensive (the shea pet ones). Solid Gold is typically sold in Global Pet Stores and Ryan's. You can also spray on Apple Cidar vinegar which gives black dogs a yummy sheen! Ok...I've babbled on long enough... lol!
