This is what you might hear at our house in the first month of living with our furkid ....do we need a life? Barb:So, did she pee? Ray: Yup B: Long or short? R: Long B:Did she poo? R: Yup B:Light or dark? R:Light B:Firm or squirt? R: Kinda in between B: Like, firm first then softer? R: (sigh) yes, kinda like that B: Did it look okay? R: (sigh) It was a beaut. B: I mean, could you see anything alive in it? R: Nope B: Did you really look?
And we've had 4 peoplekids before the fur one!

Oh! That sounds SO Familiar. ;D Mind you- we're retired, so we don't have a "life" - except for 2 greyhounds (one recovering from hookworm ) an elderly Collie X and 4 cats.

Oh Barb - this made me laugh outloud! Something similar went on in my household except it was by hand written notes between me & my mom. My mom comes over every work day around noon to take Chicky out for a short walk & bathroom break and if anyone else ever read our notes of communication they too would say "they need a life"!!!

That's us too...so hilarious! When I call my husband at work at lunch time, we talk about Brook's morning walk (that happens after I've left for work), her poops, her behaviour...everything. Then when hubbie gets home and I've taken her for a walk, the same conversation happens again. If only other people were around to hear it. From the sounds of everyone chiming in, we're all hound-normal!

Yup. Very familiar. Ours is "did they do #1 or #2, or #1 and #2, or just #1 or just #2" and our #2 term is "was it pick-up-able?"

This is too funny, who would have thought that our dogs bodily functions would be of such importance ;D I always say that examing and retreiving poo is my life I think I need to get out more

This has to be one of the funniest threads I've read .... makes one feel normal again as we all seem to have similar conversations.

I read on here, somewhere, to give the dog oatbran. I mixed up a batch and add a tablespoon or two to each meal . After he does his business (in the back yard) I leave it until the next day and can usually pick it up without leaving a mess on the grass. Reasonably firm. I also read on here that the dogs get milkbones at the kennel. Aren't milkbones made with wheat? I purposely did not buy Dentabones because they are made with wheat. Am I being too anal here?
