So Gordie went to the vet on Friday. nothing out of the norm just a poop test, heartworm test and a nail trim.
He was so happy about going for a car ride that he slept the whole way. I think he knew something was up when we hit Simcoe though because he stood up and started to whine.
When we pulled into the parking lot of the vets office i had to drag him out of the back seat. He wasn'r crying but he made it known that he knew where we were and that he was not happy about it.
The waiting room was fun ... it was almost all cats so Gordie had to make the rounds sniffing cat carriers and mooching scritches. Just as he was starting to relax the secritary called out "Mr. Flash Gordon and his Human" ... his ears perked right up and he planted himself on the floor. It took 4 cookies to get him to walk out of the waiting room.
I get him on the scale ... 83.4 pounds (racing weight 79 - 81) so he's a good weight VERY stocky built though.
The blood sucking went fine not a peep out of him ... i was shocked that he didn't scream bloody murder on that one. Then it was time for his nail trim, since i'm nervous about that the vet took him in the back room to do that. Man did Gordie scream, i thought they were killing him or at the very least that they had drawn blood.
Vet opened the door and Gordie ran to me whining ... I asked the vet if it was as bad as it sounded, turns out they didn't even draw blood and it was a routine nail trim.
So $130 later (including wormer pills and cat flea drops) we left the vet and stopped by to visit his aunt Patty. She just got a new puppy and i was itching to meet her new addition. She got a mini weenie dog (i swear i tried to talk her into a greyhound).
Gordie walks in to her apartment and plops down on the floor and little Missy ambles over to him and starts sniffing his bum then goes and licks his wee wee. Well i think they must like eachother because Gordie just stayed where he was. After a couple of hours we went home.
Boy am I glad vet season is over for the year.
