Hi all We lost our family member Sly glen in November (darn bone sarcoma). It was a tough one for our family, as this was the first Grey loss for us. Our Vet was amazing, as she looks after about 30 Greys in her practise. I want to commend everyone on this site for all the pictures, comments and support for anyone that has gone through this. It is truly a wonderful read. We actullay took a peak at the pups this week...

Sly Glen is beautiful, and what a lovely picture. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I'm glad you've been able to take a look at some of the adoptable pups. I know all too well how hard it is to open your heart again after the loss of a beloved dog.

He sure was a beautiful handsome boy and I'm so sorry for your loss. It's a big step to begin looking at greyhounds for adoption but you'll know when you are ready to open your heart for another. And welcome to the forum, a great place for sharing stories, information and laughs.

Sly Glen was a beautiful boy, I'm sorry for your loss.
I'm glad you were able to go out and meet some of the adoptable dogs. We lost our boy in December and adopted again in January. I didn't know if I was actually ready but my other greyhound was very sad with out a friend. I don't regret adopting again for a second, Corinna could never replace Hobbes, but she sure has helped heal my heart.

I'm so sorry you lost your boy; many of us have gone through this, the past year seems to have been especially hard in our area, and my boy Lou was one of the departed back in October, there are quite a few that have left that I knew well, and it is painful.
I agree with Carolyn, bringing a new hound into your home will never replace your lost boy, but these hounds have a knack for healing broken hearts. When you're ready, the right pup will call to you.
Run free Sly Glen.

A new pupper will fill your heart with the greyt joy that pets bring...but will never take over that special spot where Sly Glen will forever remain. Sorry for your loss.
