Peachy was my guinea pig since October 24 when I adopted him. Exactly 2 months later, on Christmas eve, he passed away in my arms, at only 3.5 years old. Elmer, my other guinea pig, is distraught. I feel so bad. I've never had a pet that has lived to it's full lifespan- You may remember Timbit, the hamster that was just over 1 year old when he died. I must be the world's worst owner.
Thanks to Nimbyearl, who gave him all those present he enjoyed in his final days.
May Peachy rest in eternal peace with all the other friends he has met at the bridge.

You are not the world's worst owner. You gave Peachy quality time and love. Timbit and Peachy are now together enjoying each others company. He will now play with all of his little friends.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Please don't think you are the world's worst owner. All things happen for a reason and Peachy was ready to go even though he was young. Take care and we are thinking of you and Peachy and Elmer.

Sometimes I wonder if the wonderful little creatures that don't have much time on earth go to somone "really" special to make the most of there time here! Food for thought. Rest in peace Peachy.

I'm very sorry you and Elmer have lost Peachy. You probably gave him the best two months of his life. I had two Degus twenty-one years ago. After they had a couple of litters, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Even though the vet told me he'd never neutered a Degu before, I authorized the procedure. He died two days later. I was kicking myself. Shortly after, my female gave birth to four cuties.

I'm so sorry too for your loss of Peachy. And I feel for little Elmer for losing his friend. For Peachy's last two months, you gave him love and a wonderful home. That's all any animal ever asks for.

Being a rat owner I understand how sad it is to lose a pet after such a short amount of time. There are tonnes of guinea pig rescues in Ontario so be sure to search one out as your remaining guy will need a new friend soon I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry for your loss of Peachy. I too, was a 'piggy' owner. Such dear little creatures make such a big impact in our everyday living, I sure do miss hearing the 'wheeks' when I rattle a bag. Peachy was given to you for a reason!
