It has been a long time since I have posted. Miss this forum! Thought I would 'update' in the hopes that others will too.
March 2019 will see both Light and Joker celebrate their birthdays. Light will be 10 and Joker 8. As they say.... love continues to grow. Every day I am thankful that these two have come into our lives. Both are well, and little has changed … except perhaps for distinctly greying faces...lol.
I hope that everyone and their pups are also doing well. Life is forever changing and challenging, but aren't we lucky to share it with these remarkable souls! Take care everyone.

It has been a long time...and I too miss the forum quite a bit. Love hearing the update about Light and Joker!
We lost Willy-Bear in October very suddenly, just 4 days after his 12th birthday, and I cannot yet bring myself to do his Rainbow Bridge post. I am simply devastated by his loss. Of the original Quints, we still have Mamma Rio (age 11), and Mr. Merlin and Miss Mirage (the twins, age 11). We also have Oliver (age 9) and Eva (age 3), rounding out the pack now. I love love love my seniors. Merlin is my soulmate, and Mamma, well, she is still young at heart, if only her body would keep up with her mind! I love walking them, watching them meander along, enjoying the simple breeze or sunshine on their faces. It reminds me of Little Kasie when she was older when we first started adopting our greyhounds. Life is good....
Hugs to everyone and their pups. Here's to old friends.

I too miss this forum. It was a good place to visit.
I have only one GRA dog remaining--Hildy (Braska Hildy), who is now 8 1/2. I have 3 older Greyhounds, all broodies, that I adopted through US groups, and an (idiot) Standard Poodle, who is 5. All are healthy and happy.
I'm glad that Joker and Light are doing well, sorry about Willy-Bear, and pleased that the remaining Quints and additions are good.

echandler: Hello, is anyone in the London are interested in organizing a greyhound only play date? I find it hard to meet fellow greyhound owners in the area and my 2 girls love to play with other hounds
Aug 2, 2016 12:54:53 GMT -5
adoragrey: That is a great idea!!! I have a 4 yr old greyt boy who also loves to play. And I know there are other greyt parents who would also enjoy it. Please post the date here and I will let you know if I can attend.

echandler: Is the GRA still operating? I have not seen a content refresh since November last year...

greys4us: Yes, GRA is still operating. Just no new hounds at the kennel.

lovehounds: Hi! I am new here but over the past year have been reading and viewing everything I can find about greyhounds. Also enjoy seeing people's posts/photos of their beautiful dogs. I am recovering from surgery and once I am well I want very much to adopt! ☺💖

misscarlotta: So happy to see new pups. Wish I could take 1 or more, but I have to keep working 14 hours a day to support my adult children.

pengoowin: I am a newbie when it comes to the breed, are greys good with disabled adults. Are they skittish with wheelchairs?
May 27, 2017 10:02:51 GMT -5
Heather (& KC): Hi pengoowin! It truly depends on the dog and Heather Main would help you identify the right dog for you. I have seen some with their human in a wheelchair. 🙂

padeschamps: I am new here, trying to absorb as much info as possible to see if a greyhound would be right for our family. I've done the puppy phase with the doggies I now own. And I am so interested in the rescue of older dogs to find their new forever homes.

padeschamps: What I am having a hard time finding out, is the cost for the adoption of a greyhound. And what screening process do you have to go through. And how long is the adoption process generally

Heather (& KC): Hi Padeschamps! Welcome. Contact Heather Main. Her email and phone number are at the top of this board! These dogs aren't rescues but retired racers who are ready to start home life! Good luck!
