Heart broken, yesterday at 4:30 we said good bye to our sweet boy Beau. His spirit and will were so strong, but his age caught up to him and as his body weakened, we knew the time had come.
We adopted him on Sept. 27, 2007 as a frisky 2 year old. He was a little shy of strangers but he loved barking in the yard, treats, walks and carrying his stuffies around the house. Not that he wasn't a handful at times, but he sure was a joyful, happy, handsome boy.
The sadness is over welming but comfort comes as we know Beau is running pain free at the rainbow bridge. We know he has already found something to bark at, just for the fun of it and a nice big stuffy to carry around.
We'll miss you and Sharky, Comet, Halley and Cloe will too, but we will never forget you.

Jim, Cathy, I'm so sorry. I remember Beau at the picnics. He's such a handsome boy with obviously a big personality!
Run free sweet boy. Grab all the squeakies you can and bark up a storm!

Aww...not Beau. I'm so very sorry. I feel for you both, and your pups, as you miss him. One is so helpless as the years take their toll. But the memories of all the wonderful times will live on. He was truly blessed with such a loving family.

Jim and Cathy. We are so sorry to read your news. Beau was beautiful and so very loving. It takes a special person to open their heart and home as often as you have to these noble creatures, knowing that, in time, they will break your heart. You have those special hearts. God bless you both! Inge
echandler: Hello, is anyone in the London are interested in organizing a greyhound only play date? I find it hard to meet fellow greyhound owners in the area and my 2 girls love to play with other hounds

adoragrey: That is a great idea!!! I have a 4 yr old greyt boy who also loves to play. And I know there are other greyt parents who would also enjoy it. Please post the date here and I will let you know if I can attend.

lovehounds: Hi! I am new here but over the past year have been reading and viewing everything I can find about greyhounds. Also enjoy seeing people's posts/photos of their beautiful dogs. I am recovering from surgery and once I am well I want very much to adopt! ☺💖

misscarlotta: So happy to see new pups. Wish I could take 1 or more, but I have to keep working 14 hours a day to support my adult children.

pengoowin: I am a newbie when it comes to the breed, are greys good with disabled adults. Are they skittish with wheelchairs?
May 27, 2017 10:02:51 GMT -5
Heather (& KC): Hi pengoowin! It truly depends on the dog and Heather Main would help you identify the right dog for you. I have seen some with their human in a wheelchair. 🙂

padeschamps: I am new here, trying to absorb as much info as possible to see if a greyhound would be right for our family. I've done the puppy phase with the doggies I now own. And I am so interested in the rescue of older dogs to find their new forever homes.

padeschamps: What I am having a hard time finding out, is the cost for the adoption of a greyhound. And what screening process do you have to go through. And how long is the adoption process generally

Heather (& KC): Hi Padeschamps! Welcome. Contact Heather Main. Her email and phone number are at the top of this board! These dogs aren't rescues but retired racers who are ready to start home life! Good luck!
