I have posted before, but I am not a regular. I lost my sweetheart "misscarlotta" over a year ago now. She was only 10.5 years old and it paralyzed me for 2 weeks and will affect me for life. I really would like to rescue another gentle soul but I don't know if I can handle it. I keep watching the adoptions list and I am wondering if anyone can tell me about the 2 girls that have been returned. What happened, why were they returned? I think I might be ready and this time I want to take the most needy.

I feel for you and for the huge loss you have experienced. You are right that they have a profound affect on our lives forever. I hope that your heart leads you in time to find a match... never to take the place of your dearest Misscarlotta, but to open a new chapter...for you and for them :)

Misscarlotta wants you to smile again to give another grey the love and affection that you gave to her. I also lost two greys (8years of age) within months of each other and was heartbroken and devastated. I now have a beautiful little girl whom I love dearly but will always have a place in my heart for my two Angels who will never be forgotten. Heather is very compassionate and understanding who will help you choose another pup and there is a hound out there waiting just for you. Please keep us posted.

I agree that the loss of one of these souls is devastating. Misscarlotta was loved deeply. <3
Sounds like you need to call Heather Main and plan a trip to meet your next sweet soul(s) who will bring much love into your life. Good luck and keep us posted!

I lost my heart dog too. He will never be replaced but my two greyhounds I have today helped me heal and needed love and a new life. Misscarlotta will always be with you no matter what. If your ready there are beautiful greys waiting to be loved at gra. There's one little black girl waiting to be loved since Nov. hoping you call Heather and go to GRA. Your heart will be filled with love again.
Just checked and her name is Jordyn and she's 5. Really due for a home.

Thanks for sharing your story. I hope that you call Heather and arrange to come to the kennel. I agree with Troysmom about one of the adoptables named Jordyn. I volunteer at the kennel and work directly with the dogs. I can tell you that Jordyn has always been one of my favourites....she is a quiet, calm, gentle and sweet little girl that could melt your heart with her beautiful eyes. She seems to have been over looked and none of us at the kennel can understand why because she is a complete beauty ~ inside and out. Hope you can open your heart and home to another one of these amazing dogs....hope to see you at the kennel.......jane
