Hello everyone! We've just moved to the Kitchener-Waterloo area with our girl Oni. She is just not a fan of dogs she doesn't know. Not even other greys We used to take her to fenced in school yards and baseball diamonds to allow her nice, private runs But we haven't found any in the K-W area yet. We would also be interested in group leash walks in the area, if we could arrange to walk at a distance from the group. We're starting group training soon to see if it will help her recover from her anxiety around other dogs. Maybe walking at a distance from other greys and moving closer and closer over time might help her. I'd love for her to eventually make some doggy friends. Thanks for any suggestions!

If you go to Kiwanis dog park around dusk on a weekday, it's usually empty. Because it's such a hike from the parking lot, most people seem to avoid it, especially later in the day. I haven't tried first thing in the morning, but I would guess it's similar. You can always go for a walk down there and check it out to see if it's empty, and then use it if it is. The nature trails are pretty nice as it is.
Not sure where you are in KW, but we're in the Idlewood area and have a pack of three, all pretty laid-back boys. I'm on vacation for the next couple weeks, but feel free to message me if you're at all close and we can see if we can get together for walks once I'm back.

Try Masters N Hounds every Sunday 11:00 - 1:00.It is a large fenced in area and greyhounds only. Anywhere from 4 to 12 dogs out most Sundays.

I was going to suggest Masters and Hounds as well. If you register and get a card you could go at odd hours and see if you can run Oni on her own. I'm more than willing to meet for you for an "at distance" walk as well. I fully understand your situation. While I have 2, my second was not good with other breeds in the beginning and it took some work. We went to training school and that really helped our situation. My one guy is under the weather right now so today isn't good but let's try and connect. Are you on facebook as well? - Heather
