Hi everyone, Tomorrow I will be receiving a few free range chickens from a friend. They are too gamey for him. Anyways, just wondering how I can feed these? Bones in? Can I feed them frozen (not a full chicken obviously, they have been butchered into parts similar to a grocery store). No organs, just what humans would normally eat... Breasts, drums, wings and a few full.
Any ideas or previous experience would be helpful. I'm thinking of adding it along with kibble to supplement or as treats.

Feeding frozen isn't really good. Should be thawed or you'll be dealing with some upset stomachs. Dogs actually need the bone and the organs to make a complete meal if you are feeding a raw diet, so if you do get those bits, it's fine for the dogs. You just need the ratios right. You can easily throw them drums as a treat/supplement, (I'd recommend feeding outside since it can get messy), but reduce their kibble meal accordingly, since the drum is a meal in itself. If I were you I'd keep the breasts for yourself and give them the rest!

That's greyt food for your dog. My guy is on a complete raw diet due to his health, but even giving a supplement of raw can have wonderful benefits for your pup. They can certainly eat all of it including the bones, just make sure you are in the same area just on the off chance they choke. Slappy loved chomping through the bones and crunching it all up. If your pup had never had raw with bone before it may take a bit to get used to. Sometimes they aren't sure exactly how they are supposed to eat these new things. Enjoy

So I thawed a full chicken and cut it up (found out I need to sharpen my knives), and started just giving him pieces as treats...chomps the bones down quite easily. He gets super excited so I am going to keep the portions small since he has a tendency of trying to gulp his food, but so far so good! Its nice to be able to add this to his diet instead of more kibble, which usually gave him the runs.
