Bonnie's been phobic about getting her nails clipped ever since Petsmart cut the quick on one of her front paws last October. I took her to the vet in hopes that they'd be able to clip them, but she became frantic, which forced them to stop. It was at that point that the vet announced that there was no recourse, other than clipping under anaesthesia! I was shocked and totally disagree. Bonnie will only undergo anaesthesia for a legitimate procedure, and even with that, I'd be hesitant. So I said thanks but no thanks, and started touching her paws, and was working my way up to clipping them myself, when a friend called. I cried on her shoulder about my Bonnie woes, lol. She lives in my neighbourhood, and told me our conversation must be karma, as she had just found a mobile groomer who would be coming to cut her kitty's nails, and would I like to try it out, too. We had nothing to lose, and I admit that I wasn't exactly feeling very positive about it, but did agree, and we set up back to back appointments. Well, last evening they came over, and within 10 minutes, Bonnie's nails were done! I was so relieved! I am so happy to have found someone who comes to the house. And the bonus is, the service is extremely reasonable. With tax and tip it was all of $20; this service is a real gem for those of us with phobic puppers and also for indoor cats, who don't like a car ride. For anyone with the same problem, here's the website: www.pawdicuremobile.com/

I hope that after Bonnie has a pedicure, you painted her toes! I used to buy OPI nail polish for dogs when I had the three whippet girls, it was great fun!

Ohhh, that sounds like fun Martha! I've got some pretty funky colours ~~ maybe I'll try painting Bonnie's for the picnic. And I'd love to have matching pedicures one day too, lol.

Wow...thats a greyt idea, not a bad price for the service either When i get an extra sec, I will post a pic of Wyn's mani/pedi that she had done for her ambassa-dog debut @ this yrs All About Pets show She had sparkly purple nails w/ a ladybug painted nail on each paw...she had a purple dyed tail tip to match courtesy of her talented groomer! As an "aside", my friend and co-worker Robyn (RVT) will be nail trimming @ the Picnic, she is quick and gentle. She also is vending w/ her sister Caryn, selling baked goodies for dessert after the BBQ!
