If you have adopted a greyhound who raced in West Virginia, we welcome some pictures and stories about your new addition in this forum. Hopefully your greyhound's previous owner/trainer will see and respond!
If you owned or trained a racing greyhound that came up to the GRA to be adopted into a new home, please feel free to post and ask about your greyhound. Hopefully their new people will see the post and respond!
Track mates can also meet up this way, and even litter mates!
*You are not limited to posting in this forum, but this forum is limited to West Virginia hounds in order to make it easier for parties to find each other.
Thanks, and have fun!

We adopted our second greyhound Finn (originally PC's Dasher) from his first home - long story. He was born Dec 5th 2008, and I believe he was 3 or 4 when he retired. He is black with a white chest and toes, very goofy and affectionate. He also LOVES water, which seems strange for a grey. His favourite thing to do is swim in the duck pond at our aunt and uncle's farm. He raced quite a bit at Wheeling Downs, and I would love to hear about his racing days

Hello there. I brought my boy home from GRA last May. He raced at Tri-State. I would love to find his former racing connections and learn more about his life before I met him. His race name was Cactus Gold: Holy Christmas, this guy's hunk!

Trip2011, Cactus Gold came up with me from Nitro, I picked him out because of his soulful eyes. He was a very good boy for the trip as I recall, and you've certainly kept him in great shape!

Our boy Finn raced at Wheeling. His racing name was CTW Dune Buggy. He is by far the best dog I've ever owned and the superstar of the neighborhood. I'll pass people sometimes and they say hi to Finn (using his name) while I'm wondering who they are. LOL There is no such thing as a short walk with a greyhound.

Teddy (RJ's Theadore, Gable Greyhound) and Gofer (TMC's Go For It, Steubenville) are both superstars of Wayne and Cheryl Piquette. We frequently head south to visit with Wayne and Cheryl, and are quite familiar with many of their hounds over the past two years, plus have a few contacts with the other kennels at Wheeling Island. If you have any questions, please let us know! BTW - whoever gets beautiful boy Joe (Wheeling Joe), Gofer and him were kennel paddock mates Gillian

Our girl Oke Tara, Tarra, came from West Virignia four years ago at the age of nine and half. She's was a broodie and had her last litter in May of 2011.
She was a successful racer until she broke her leg. She raced at Wheeling Downs 2003-2004. If anyone knew her we'd love to hear stories.
