I am so sorry to read about your sweet Donna. As Sonaturallygreyt stated "it's a story we have all read on the forum" and I too have had to write the same a few times. No doubt about it, Donna enriched your lives as you did hers, she was well aware of how much she was loved by you and Adam. When the time is right to bring another sweet hound into your lives, you will know it. I think Donna would like that, knowing another hound will have found her Forever Home and be cherished, just as she was.
Godspeed beautiful Donna ... your spirit will always be with your parents.

Adam and I have talked about it a great deal today and we made the call to heather go visit the ones that are at GRA tomorrow and see if anybody connects with us the way that we hope. We really like the looks of Cora or Blazin if they are not spoken for but really we are pretty open to see who chooses us. We will be waiting until at very least next weekend to come get the one we want to take home, we need to prepare ourselves but Adam and I both agree that we would much rather be with a dog then without, and he/she can help us move forward and give us love as we mourn. We are just not willing to move forward without helping another wonderful dog. As I said on Saturday at the walk, I don't think that I could go with another breed of dog. They are just too special. theirs definitely something different about them We are both fairly excited to see the dogs tomorrow and if we don't feel ready we don't mind taking time and coming back over again as many times as we need to. Thank you for all your guys support and I am really happy to have this community.

I hope that you and Adam find a new friend. Another grey can help with the grief, as I discovered with both Graham and (especially) with Annie.

Sam and Adam, With going thru such a horrible time, I'm so happy for you that you recognize what Donna brought to your lives and visa versa. I think it's wonderful that your hearts are open to love another beautiful greyhound and to be loved back. It just proves, once again, how amazingly deep these pups touch our soul. All the best, take good care. Martha

I too have lost a greyhound to OS and I too went and found another greyhound to help me cope with the loss. I have never regretted this and know that this works for me. It's what I do each time I have to say goodbye.
God bless you and your hounds.
I would not want to be without a hound in my home.

I saw your post and pic of your girl on Pro Greyhound Movement's site and had to come here to double check it really was her...I'm so very sorry for your sudden loss, but I also smile for you knowing you have opened up your hearts and home to another. What a beautiful way to honour Donna's memory...
