It seems that after all Ace went through this past summer with surgery on his leg, he has blown the tendon again. This time he is much worse off. He is dragging his back right leg and the paw is turned under. I called OVC today and they won't do anything over the weekend but we have an appointment for Monday morning. He doesn't seem to be in a lot of pain but is having trouble walking. He did sleep well last night.....better than I did.
The poor boy doesn't deserve to go through all this. He is the best dog I have ever had and all the time he strives to just please you. My heart is breaking for him.
I will update after our visit.

Oh no! What a shame. I hope OVC can fix him up again, preferably quickly and without too much pain to Ace or your wallet.

I'm so sorry to hear that Ace's leg is hurt but am happy that he doesn't appear to be in any pain. Poor guy (I remember all the things you had to go through last year). Here's hoping OVC can fix him up quickly..

Darn... again. So sorry to hear Ace has pulled a tendon once more. How awful for both him and you to go through repeat treatment. Hopefully it will be a straight forward plan with quick recovery. Good luck tomorrow!

We took Ace to OVC today and they aren't really sure what is wrong or what happened. They think the tendon isn't ripped again and it may be just an infection. He did have an infection in it in Jan and it cleared up with antibiotics. To me it seems like it is more than an infection. We will try the antibiotic again and see what happens. They won't do surgery on it again. We may have to resort to a custom made brace.
They said Ace is such a good boy and so stoic that they had trouble finding where it was sore. She wanted him to be a little more grumpy and complain so they would know where the problem was. He is always so good.
I guess we just wait and see now.

Aw-w-w..Bless him.. not wanting to complain. Perhaps the sentiment behind his racing name (C's Courageous)? Whatever has caused this, it would certainly be great if it resolves without any further intervention. Here's hoping.

I hope the antibiotics take care of the situation once and for all this time. Good luck Ace.
