We usually start at 10mg, and haven't needed more than 20mg per meal. There are other options too, drop me a line if the pepcid doesn't work.

Well it isn't much of a recipe, I throw in different things. I basically put a pot of water on the stove, and boil chicken thighs, and/or any other leftover meat I might have (leftover roast, chicken carcass, etc.). If you like, you can throw in other stuff. I usually add cubed sweet potato or a bit of carrot. Boil for about 30-35 minutes and let cool...the meat should have flavoured the water nicely to make a broth. Debone the meat and add back in. At this point I often add in some raw beef chunks or beef heart (I find cooking fats makes them less digestible, so I leave as much raw as I can). I then pour it over ground raw, over some kibble or feed as is. I don't do it all the time, but often on weekends in the winter as a warm treat You could add anything in really...rice, pasta, greens, eggs, cheese, etc.

Thank you Redhead! This should really help change things up. I will try it out this week.

How is Bonnie doing now?
My three girls were all on a modified raw diet (one cup grain free kibble mixed with raw which was either fresh from grocery store or frozen raw from pet food store). Add ins that have always been enjoyed by all: Scrambled eggs 1 tin of sardines 1/2 tin canned salmon Cooked ground beef Turkey neck & leg cooked in crock pot, broth used as a drizzle dressing over meal, the cooked meat added in over 3-4 days (my cats really love this too) plus I could make some turkey soup for myself out of this. I also add Omega 3 Marine Oil to each meal which helps greatly with dry skin & coat shine.
Snacks/ treats Dehydrated: chicken feet, duck feet, beef lung, beef liver, beef trachea, salmon fillets lamb jerky Liver chops
I only purchase Canadian made products for both the food & treats. For awhile Emily liked plain Greek yogurt but turned her nose up at it the last 2 times I offered it so I quit that. My previous 2 girls loved cottage cheese but I have not tried it for Emily.

Thank you so much for a very thoughtful reply; that's a lot of variety! Bonnie is doing great! I've tried the recipes that Redhead gave me, which were a huge hit, and she is also on the Dogs We Love diet, which is cooked. You can buy pre-made or make your own, and I make my own. I am really pleased with this diet because not only does she devour it, but there has only had one incident of tummy upset/frenzied grass eating this week. It was 3 days a week when she was on raw, so I'm very happy about the improvement. Plus there's the added bonus of it being much more economical. No doubt she'll get sick of this too, but I'm going to give her much more of a variety from here on.

Glad the "Dogs We Love" went over well. I was in Orangeville today and almost stopped by to pick some up (then realized that making dog food would distract me from my other weekend jobs!). Maybe I will get some later this week and make it as the dogs love it as a mix-in.

Ive had my dogs on a totally raw diet for almost 3 years. Ramone eats 1.5 lbs of meat/bone/organ daily. The only thing that is added is omega from salmon and a glucosamine daily. A treat would be a raw recreational bone from a pork shoulder or veal shank.

Our angel Bonnie was the same as your Bonnie (maybe it's the name ) and would have the gurgly tummy nearly once a week and want to go out and only eat grass and then skip breakfast. I tried excatly what Karen has suggested and started giving her some food right before bedtime and it did the trick. It turned out she just needed something in her tummy to get her through the night. I hope it works for your Bonnie.
