I notice that you are in Newmarket. The southern contingent of the South Simcoe Greyhound Group is having a fun run at the ball diamond behind the EG Sports complex in Sharon on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 - 2:00. You are more than welcome to join us. We use the diamond directly behind the east parking lot; enter off of Mt Albert Rd and keep right. Be sure to bring your muzzle if you decide to come. Hope to see you there, Anne

I hope you are able to join our group and come to a fun run soon! We usually meet just north of Bradford, but not this week -I am out of town this weekend, but I sure would love to see Isaac again! groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/southsimcoegreys/info

The fun run in Sharon sounds great, we'll make every effort to bring Isaac along! We've ordered a rain coat and a jacket for him but haven't received them yet. He been going out with a scarf on and doesn't seem to mind our current temperatures at all. He's not crazy about rain although he does not mind having wet feet from the grass. We are wondering if it's typical for our members to dress their greys for the great outdoors?? Here's a couple of shots of him snoozing this morning!! He spent about half an hour like this, lol!

Welcome to the forum & belated congratulations on adopting Isaac! He is sure a handsome young lad. Keep us update with lots of posts & pics as we all love to experience the firsts of a newly adopted greyhound. He sounds like is doing fabulous already. I hope you are able to meet up with a fun run group as that is just what your boy will need & love.

How long did it take for Isaac to learn the stairs? I just brought my boy Geordi home today, and it is a real doozy to get him up the stairs! We pretty much have to move his paws the whole way while standing directly behind him. I'm also using treats which he's happy about. Did you have any other secrets to get him to learn the stairs?

Congratulations on your adoption of Geordi! It took about three or four days for Isaac to figure out stairs, to make matters worse, we have hardwood stair treads in our home and they are really slippery. We put cardboard on each stair to give his paws more grip. Just be patient, standing behind him and moving his feet, lots of encouragement and a few treats will go a long way! Now Isaac runs up and down with surprising speed and we've also taken off the cardboard! Good luck, Geordi will master the stairs in no time!

Hello everyone!! We're just saying hello to all and offering a little update on our boy Isaac! He's turning out to be a really great dog, he's taking to his training very well and has really become part of the family. So far his favourite things are; car rides, the off leash dog park, snow and anything food related! He is very affectionate with everyone and is showing a very gentle personality. We are looking for a daycare for him on the rare occasion that we can't take him with us, we've looked at "K9 to 5" and tried "DoggieVille" in Newmarket and it wasn't a pleasant experience. If anyone could recommend someone in the Newmarket area, we'd love to hear from you. We've posted a couple of recent pictures of him as well! Attachments:

Campgreyhound would be the best place for Isaac. Karen is awesome, he'll have lots of fellow greys to play with and fun runs. I had my boys at camp last year, never worried and Karen gives updates. Can't say enough, great place to take them and in a house setting. I'm in Brampton and the drive was easy,. You'd be closer in Newmarket.
Check out campgreyhounds website and Facebook page.
ETA Campreyhound is on he forum too

GoDogGo .... your Isaac is such a beautiful boy there, not just in looks but personality as well. Love his "face in the snow" photo. Hope you get your daycare problem solved.
