What does that mean exactly?

What does that mean exactly? Moderators and Administrators oversee this web site and try to keep things in line. They have the ability to edit and delete posts, move threads, and perform other manipulations.

Posts will be censored if the moderator doesn't like the content? Who decides what is appropriate to "manipulate"?

ocydroma...what's the big concern? If responsible people act in a responsible manner in communicating things responsibly, there should be no concerns. However, far too often these kind of forums attract a lunatic fringe element who have nothing to contribute and are intent on making things difficult for the responsible users. Therefore, the need for administrators and moderators. We are fortunate to have men and women perform this function for us and keep our forum the high quality place to meet like minded grey lovers....

My concern is a "moderator" being able to edit and delete and "perform other manipulations" at their own discretion if they don't like someones post.

Congrats Jen!
I don't think its a matter of editing and deleting "if they don't like it", its a matter of keeping the forum going for what its here for - talking about Greyhound Adoption and such.

My concern is a "moderator" being able to edit and delete and "perform other manipulations" at their own discretion if they don't like someones post. Every single forum on the internet has Administrators and Moderators.Posts are only deleted if they are offensive.I have been with this forum since day 1 and have had to delete two posts which refered to cruelty to greyhounds. Posts will not be deleted if we don't like them.As long as the posts conform to the rules they will not be touched.
