Carla, I'm still in shock. This just can't be. You have given Buffy a life beyond the norm, a life that was extra special, a life she deserved so well. I felt like I knew Buffy through the forum and Facebook ... all those gorgeous photos of her enjoying HER farm. You have been the best Mom. And as you are out riding Maverick, believe that Buffy (and Chicky) will be with you in spirit.
Carla, please take care of yourself and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Godspeed sweet Buffy.

Oh NO. I am so very sorry for your loss. You gave Buffy a wonderful retirement. How many pups get to run on a farm with other dogs and a horse. Her stay with you was too short. I have loved seeing all of the adventures you have had at the farm with both Chicky and Buffy. They will be running together at the bridge. Take care.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how much you love Buffy. What a shock to lose such a precious girl so soon.
I've always enjoyed your pictures of the hounds enjoying life at the horse farm and your lovely Maverick. Buffy was so truly blessed to enjoy her retirement rooming free at the farm and with you.
I know when I lost Troy, my thoroughbred Cooper helped me cope. I spent much of the week riding him and it helped me somehow in those awful first weeks. As angelollie says, both Chicky and Buffy will be with you in spirit at the farm.
Rest in peace Buffy. I hope you and Troy meet again at rainbow bridge.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Buffy looked like she had a great retirement with you. You can see her happiness in your pictures. You loved her a lot and it shows and she gave you her love in return. R.I.P Buffy. Run pain free at the bridge with all the other angels.

How shocking. I'm so sorry. I remember when she chose you and I too feel like I know Buffy from reading of her farm adventures. She had an amazing retirement with you. You two definitely lived the promise of quality.
Run free sweet Buffy.

Life is so precious and sometimes just not fair!!! Our hearts are aching for you in losing your sweet girl. Buffy and Chicky will always be with you as they both left a piece of their hearts at the farm so you will never be alone.

I was so saddened to hear of your loss. To lose her so suddenly is very hard. Keep all those lovely memories at the front of your memory, so you can call on them whenever you need them.
Keeping busy will help, but don't be afraid of remembering how wonderful she was while she was with you. Every time you think of her she will know it and smile down on you.

Well I managed to get through this first day without Buffy, although it seems all a blur. The hardest moments were first thing this morning realizing it was not just a horrific dream, coming home from work to only having the cats greet me and driving out to the farm. The eeriest thing was the farm dog, Shadow, who usually recognizes my car coming into the lane way and always runs to my car, escorting me to where I park, tonight he sat on the porch of the house and just watched me pull in. When I got out of the car and looked at him (we are about 300 feet apart from each other) he just wagged his tail but did not get up. It was not until I knelt down (after walking about 12 feet towards the barn) and said "hello Sahdow" that he came running over to me. He was ever so gentle and just rubbed his head against me. Normally when I get out of my car I give him a pat and he immediately goes to the back hatch waiting for me to let Buffy out. He did not go near my car tonight. It brought tears to my eyes that he seemed to know/understand that his friend was gone.

I hope the darkness is lifting a little as you work through your second week without Buffy. You're in my thoughts.

I am sorry you've lost your girl Buffy. I absolutely think you did the kindest thing in letting her go. You did what was the best thing for her so that she didn't have to experience prolonged suffering. I am with you on quality not longevity at any cost.
I am in my 3rd week since I let Ruby go so I know how empty it feels when you loose a beloved greyhound.
I still can't believe that Ruby is gone but each day is a little less awful. Hold on to all those lovely memories - nothing can take those away from you.
