I am so sorry to hear about your loss of lovely Dixie. What a beautiful story you wrote to remember her. Run free Dixie, we will see you soon.

Life definitely is unfair sometimes...our hearts go out to you at such a heartbreaking loss of such a special girl who deserved a much longer retirement. But, she certainly was in an amazing home, and your love of her was obvious, as was hers of you.
Run like the wind, Miss Dixie, giving as many kisses and (gentle!) hugs as you want now!

You are so right. Life is not fair. You gave her two wonderful years and it is so clear on her face in the pictures, that she loved every minute. She sure knew how to enjoy herself.

Suzanne, J and I are so, so sorry to see that Dixie has crossed the bridge. Our hearts go out to you. Thank goodness you were able to fit 'just one more crate' ...and for a most deserving broodie nonetheless! When we bring these souls into our lives I don't know who is the luckier, them or us. Okay I do know the answer...it's us. I think that's why it hurts so much when they leave us. They have given their all to us and asked for very little in return. I hope you can find solace in your memories of the wonderful times you spent with your girl. You can see she was EXTREMELY happy in her home with you. There is so much joy in bringing a broodie home. They seem to have a second puppy-hood when they retire. Hugs to you and the rest of your pack. Barb, J , Max and broodie Tarra (who sends a mama's kiss)

It takes a very special person (s) to take in a broodie, many of us feel like we would be setting ourselves up for heartache to do so. It doesn't matter if you love these babies for a week, a year or since they were pups. The bond is so great, the love so strong. Bless you for doing so. Thank you for sharing your/her life with us.
