One evening in June of 2012 I was walking on a lovely clear night. I had lost a pet the previous year and was under a vow to 'never go through the pain again'. I looked up and saw a glorious star in the sky... a Light so bright and clear, and somehow a weight was lifted. I magically embraced the hope to love again.... and that I did. She was not a first pick when scouring the GRA adoption pages. In fact, we had set our eye on another big boy. But as fate would have it, he didn't quite connect. Bill remedied the situation by calling out "LIGHT... " and in a brief moment, she came into view. I was awe-struck and a magical bond began. Light carried a grace that I find hard to describe. Calm and pensive, and at the same time delightfully funny. She loved to roach and would froggy-splay laying down. She hated fireworks and liked to nibble grass and eat snow. She loved her walks and adored (I think in a somewhat maternal way) her brother Joker. They were a perfect match. She gave strength and confidence to an otherwise shy boy. They were like two puzzle pieces that fit. Today it is Christmas and it seems unbearably empty and so quiet. I simply cannot comprehend never seeing her again. My heart is broken and will never be the same. But my soul is eternally enriched for having shared life with Light. Thank you my dear sweet baby girl. I love you... forever and ever.

I'm so very sorry. Light was much too young to have to leave.
Godspeed Light.

Oh no. I am in tears reading about your loss of Light. Your post was so poignant and full of love.
Please know I am carrying you in my thoughts and heart. I lost Mirage around the same time, I know what you mean about Christmas being empty. ((Hugs))
