It is with a very heavy heart that I share the news that Mr. Merlin has joined Little Kasie Lynne, Tiana and Willy-bear across the Bridge today. What was first thought to be a simple leg fracture and clean X-rays last night turned out to be our worst fears this morning, and we had to let him go. He was my heart, my reason for living, my "HunkaHunkaburninglove", my Bayboo.
I still cannot write Willy-Bear's memorial post...he passed away in October and it is still too painful to touch. But Merlin, my Merlin. I could fill a book with stories about Merlin right now. He simply made me so happy. He was so full of life and joy, and just wanted everyone to love him. And everyone did. You simply could not help but love Merlin.
He loved nothing more than to steal the slippers off my feet, lie on top of me watching movies (snoring), and begging for butt scratches, belly rubs, and ear rubs. He got anything he ever wanted. I got way more in return from him, and I am forever grateful. He reminded me that life was to be enjoyed, to be loved, to be smiled at...no matter what.
Mamma Rio and Mirage are the only 2 original Quints remaining now. I suspect they will not be long in joining their pack. And then, well, watch out, because then RainbowLand will never be the same!
(Photobucket is not working for me, so this post does not have any pictures. I am NOT impressed. He was such a beautiful big dark brindle boy)
I love you, Bayboo....when we meet again, I promise I will bring bags full of Mommy's slippers, all for you.
