Eight newly retired greyhounds arrived from Steubenville Racing Kennels, Wheeling, West Virginia, last Saturday, January 23,2016. The transportation was a joint effort by volunteers from Greyhound Action League of Buffalo and GRA canada. Wayne Piquette, Steubenville Racing Kennels, was the trainer for these 8 beautiful hounds.
Here are the three new girls with GRA volunteer Alex having a potty break and stretching their legs at Greyhound Action League of Buffalo HQ's ... the girls are: sisters Kiowa Diddle (mauve muzzle, already adopted), Kiowa Dabble (pink muzzle) and a rare colored Kulprit (white and chocolate). You have to see her in person to appreciate the color. And here are the five new boys from Wheeling with Laura (Greyhound Action League): Jack on left (Kiowa Jump Jack), Mark2 (FollowtheBuzzard), Andy (Kiowa Andy Price), Hine (Kiowa Hoss Hine), and Flotsome (Mac's Flotsome). This is Jack (Kiowa Jump Jack) .... he was taking advantage of having the front seat all to himself while waiting to clear Customs. This boy has tons of personality.By early evening, the pups had reached their final destination, having left Wheeling early Saturday morning in that huge snowstorm. Once they were all watered, turned out and settled in their new home I thought a photo of Heather Main (left), Teddy Lee (middle, who planned the haul), Jane Anderson Moore and Bill Moore (both GRA volunteers) would end the evening with some great smiles. There are more photos posted on the GRA FB page.

We are so happy that this dog run was able to happen! Thank you for everyone who helped along the way. Whoever adopts any of these beauties is for sure going to have an amazing hound.

I second this ..... like Gillian, anytime I have visited Wayne (Trainer) and Cheryl Piquette at Steubenville Kennels in Wheeling, WV, I have always admired their hounds as they come as a complete package. I too am so very happy this run turned out the way it did, and something tells me it won't be our last.

A great big thank you to each of you for working so hard to make this happen - each of you are truly amazing for giving so much to these wonderful greyhounds in helping them find their forever homes. The pups are stunning - love each and every one of them and happy to know that they are now Canadian Citizens!!!
