So today is out little T-Bone, sweet T, Tarra’s birthday. She’s a teenager!!!
Having lost angel Max, far too young, this past year we are thrilled that this little girl is ringing in her the start of her fourteenth year with us. Had you asked me 3 ½ years ago if the little cowering, flea-ridden, worm filled broodie we brought home was going to turn into such a ‘girl with gusto’ I would never have guessed it. T starts every morning with a walk. If we aren’t up by 5:30am she reminds us it’s time to go. She does her business and stops to sniff and when she discovers she and I have fallen behind Finn and daddy she gallops to catch up. Basically this means I am at the end of the leash running full tilt trying to keep up with this thirteen year old dog with a bum leg. She’s a wonder!!
After losing Max in April T’s health started to go downhill, her back end would sink when she stood for very long and she wasn’t interested in the walks the way she used to be. She was lethargic. We were cutting her walks quite short and had made a few visits to the vet to figure out what was causing the decline and how to treat it. We tried her on a pain killer and then we found the fix, enter Finn (JSK Speedlimit). T was back. Her zest for life returned and she was filled with renewed energy. At first we continued to keep her walks shorter than Finn’s thinking how could she keep up with a three year old but after a few weeks it was evident that she could walk as far, or further, than Finn.
We are grateful that we have gotten to share our lives with this wonderful soul and cherish each and every day we have with her.
And now a few (or more) photos

Enter Finn
The girls out for a walk
Daddy with his girl
OH THOSE CRAZY EARS
And lastly, T says why walk when you can fly?!?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our one of a kind girl!!!!
