We're still in the planning stage, but we will be doing a Greyhound Parade at the picnic so be prepared to get creative! Throughout the day we'll also be staging various contests/games. A few tentative ideas: Longest tail, Fuzziest Butt, Barest Butt, Wet T-Shirt contest (canine, not human!), GRA version of "The Voice"... "The Howl" (my daughter suggested taking your hound into the bathroom when you shower to practice. Apparently my singing in the shower gets my guys howling. I really hope that's a hound compliment), maybe a talent show of sorts? Anybody who would like to volunteer some time or ideas, feel free to post or contact me by PM or email (or Facebook or morse code or whatever). Be a fantastic opportunity for high school volunteer hours. Also, as usual, the occasional GRA Howl-Off.

Bobbing for Hot Dogs was always hilarious! Like you needed another game suggestion! LOL Yes we absolutely DO need suggestions! How exactly does the bobbing for Hot Dogs work? Easy Take a kiddie pool, fill it about half way with water. Drop hotdogs in that are cut in half or quarters (I'd use partially frozen ones just for meat handling safety). Hot dogs will float so then bring over a couple of greys and show them the hot dogs in the water. We found that not all will stick their nose in to get the hot dog, but if they're motivated enough, they'll plunge their face right in to get it. It's quite funny to see them blow bubbles trying to get the hot dog piece.

We've got some great ideas brewing, just need to work out the fine details. Still looking for volunteers, no skills required, sense of humour helpful. Any teens looking for community service hours?

Oh yeah, and I don't suppose anybody has a megaphone/microphone that we could use for the day? You know, so we can save Heather from jumping up and down, waving her arms and yelling?
(Unless somebody has a warped sense of humour, a video camera, the skill to dub in the Village People singing "YMCA" and a membership on YouTube that allows for more than a 10 minute upload.)

I have a speaker & mic at work. I'll borrow it for the day & set it up at the picnic for Heather.

Alex needs some community hours and was asking me if there would be opportunity to get some at the picnic...he's in grade 9 and 14 years old...put him to work if you can! he loves to help! PS I am sure we could get his 13 year old sister, Nadia to help too if you need another pair of hands....she also loves to help...
