Finally getting around to posting on this terrific section of the forum! My Broodie raced at Flagler 2007-2008 (54 races)up to Grade A Penrose My Emily DOB May 23, 2005 according to Greyhound Data, Nick S De Salvo is listed as the owner whom I believe lives out in Colorado. Emily had 18 pups out of 3 litters - one pup lives in Colorado & I have contact with her adoptive mom on facebook (Penrose my Sheryl looks just like Emily) and Emily's last pup came up to Canada with her last summer and lives about 45mins away from us. I know Emily went to a Brood Farm in West Virginia prior to coming to Canada. Would love to hear any info about my sweet, energetic, pretty girl. She still loves to run!

Hi Kathy, thanks again for the info. I've been chatting with her trainer who is absolutely awesome! It's nice to learn about the adoptee's past. As a result, I have also been able to connect with Real Dream's sibling Real Song. This board was a great idea. Thank you Camp Greyhound I'm glad I could help. Kathy

I work with the kennels at SOKC. Unfortunately I can't help some of you because your dogs came from other tracks in Florida. I'm sorry. If you are on Facebook you can join The Pro Greyhound Movement and post information about your dog and hopefully someone will know your dog and respond to you.

I adopted retired White/Black male racer "ARIAT" out of Dave the Dog and FFBoots who raced 59 times in Florida until 2013. He is now known as Louis (see photo avatar), residing in Ontario Canada. He is alive, well, much loved, with a multitude of soft beds to choose from and enjoying 3 walks per day every day with runs depending on the weather/footing. He is a wonderful house pet and first dog. He is drawn to meet new people and tolerates calm small animals very well. WE WELCOME contact/stories/photos from anyone who knew him back in his glory days or from owners and adoption groups holding his siblings color White and Black sex male weight (as of Apil 2014) no more than 175 pounds date of birth 16 SEP 2010 land of birth US USA land of standing CA Canada ear mark 90A-54616 studbook (2012) breeder Brett Horyna or Kevin Fish owner until 2013 - Kevin Fish or Brett Horyna *SIBLINGS: Bandolino, Chaco, Doc Marten, Dolce Vita (f), Easy Spirit (f), Fratelli, Garnet Blossom (f) Ariat raced at Sanford Orlando out of the Celtic kennel. His littermate Doc Marten is currently racing at Sanford Orlando also out of the Celtic kennel. We had Ariat in the pet kennel prior to him being sent to GRA and he was a very nice dog. I'm glad he has found a home with you. Kathy

Our girl raced at three Florida tracks during her career. She began her life as Flying Kina, and now she is known as "Bonnie". Her NGA registration # is 109E 52039. Flying Kina's 16-month career began on 15 May 2011 and ended 25 Sept 2012; starting at Naples-Fort Meyers, moving on to Flager and ending at Daytona, where she excelled. Her Daytona trainer has declined communication, however I welcome any tidbit of information, no matter how small or insignificant, if anyone should wish to share info.
Flying Kina's littermate is Flying Kingston, who was recently adopted through GRA, but we've yet to make a connection with his adopters. Should they see this post, we'd be most willing to talk with them.

Hi,
we have two pups who raced at Derby Lane in St. Petersberg:
Rio (racing name El Rio …sire is Craigie Whistler, Dam is SL Rozlynn Roe). According to Greyhound Data she only raced one maiden race on July 28, 2009, but who knows if this is accurate. She then hung around somewhere (at the farm or adoption kennel?) until she came up to GRA in May 201 when we adopted her the first day she arrived.
Willy (racing name Starz Predator….sire is Flying Penske, Dam is Solitary June). According to Greyhound Data, he raced initially at Raynham/Taunton from May 2008 until August 2008 before moving to Derby Lane, where he raced until January 2009.
We have had no contact with any of Rio's siblings, or Willy's one sister. We have also not had any contact with their owners or trainers. We would love any information about either of them. Both pups have lovely personalities…Rio is very loving, snuggly and relaxed. Willy was obviously well-cared for and we suspect given many treats by his trainers at the track as he has quite the sweet tooth!
Thanks for any help you can give us!
Janette, Harold and our gang!

We adopted Super C Joker, now called Dexter, AKA: big baby. He is a R. BD born in march of 2011 and registered by Jeff L Cole. Tattoo-RE: 31G, LE: 55677. Our adoption story from GRA was an interesting experience, our grey picked us out. Heather said she had never seen anything like it. Dex has changed our lives, and not just because he lines up ever left shoe on the couch. A couple of weeks ago our son had a night mare and Dexter refused to leave our son's side; stayed with him all night. When our son is at school, Dexter carries our sons "blankie" around. Dexter is soo kind and we love him very much. It has only been 4 months but we could not imagine this house without him. We r bad pet owners in that we don't follow all the Alpha pet owner rules, it is hard to say no when Dexter looks at us with his big sad eyes. I'm a proud momma when I go for walks and people stop us to compliment Dexter. Dexter is my shadow, even now laying at my feet. When I am in my office he drages his bed from the bedroom to the office so he can be comfy while still being close to me. On movie nights he shares his family room bed with our son, they lay together head to head, even falling asleep together. We want Jeff to know how grateful we r to have Dexter in our lives.

We were adopted 2 1/2 weeks ago by our beautiful boy TB's Streetheat from the Goodman Kennel, racing until May at Sanford Orlando. Streetheat is now know as Copper because of his beautiful colouring. He is a very shy, timid boy but is settling in beautifully in his forever home. Our other greyhound Beenee (Fringe Benefit) has retirement down to a fine art and is showing Copper how it is done! Each day we are seeing him do something different. He walks beautifully on a leash, learned how to climb stairs immediately with no problems and has only had one accident in the house. Such a good boy. He is spending less and less time in his crate and seems to enjoy being with the family more. I have thoroughly enjoyed the link that was provided so that we could watch Copper's races while at Sanford Orlando. Because of this thread on the forum I have been in contact with Copper's trainer Stephanie Elrod and it has been great talking with her. I have also been in touch with one of his litter mates owner's in the Nova Scotia. thanks again jane

I just thought I would take a chance and see if anyone knows anything about my new girl Elvira. Her race name was Gale Grace and she raced in Florida, was owned by Smith Greyhounds and raced by Connell Kennels, Inc She was born May 29, 2010 www.greyhound-data.com/d?d=GALE+GRACE&sex=&color=&birthyear=&birthland=I tried the same avenue (Pro Greyhound Movement FB group)as I did with Onyx. Onyx's post returned wonderful results with pictures of his littermates and him as a pup, where he was raised and even his kennel girl and I chatted for a couple of hours. When I did this with Gale Grace, I got absolutely nothing back which saddens me as she is a wonderful girl and someone out there must remember her at least a little. Thanks!
