I am so sorry to learn of Abby's cancer. So unfair.
Take it one day at a time and enjoy every minute you have with your girl. You will be in my thoughts in the coming days, weeks and months.
Hugs to Abby and her pack.

Linda, I am so sorry you are facing this. I went through this a while ago with my Bella. Right down to the same shoulder. I spoke to many people who have gone through this and some very knowledgeable vets. I too went with pain management. I don't come on here as much as I used to but I will check back often. If you need to talk with someone who knows, PM me your number and I will call. It helped me at a time when I needed it. For the time being, Give Abby lots of love and treats. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Linda and Don, I'm so sorry to hear about Abby. My heart goes out to you, such a helpless feeling knowing you can't make her better. I too chose pain management for Angel Frankie whom I lost last August to OS. Know that we all are thinking about Abby and sending her and her family our thoughts and prayers.

I'm catching up here. So sorry to hear about this. I lost Gerry to OS when he was 7, he was with me for 2 years prior to that. He also had it in his right shoulder but he had it in his left hip too. Please be careful not to let Abby run/jump as I know of someone who did this after her dog was diagnosed with OS and her hip shattered.
Sending you hugs and love.

rubbylottie, I can attest to that concernng the bones shattering, its how we found out Lola had OS, her shoulder broke from jumping up. Its a horrible illness, we lose too many pups to this.

What terrible news you have had. I hope that you and your doctors can come up with something that will keep her pain free, so she can enjoy her daily routine as long as possible. I certainly do not envy you having to deal with all of this, but you know your girlie better than anyone and you will make all the right decisions for her wellbeing.

Thanks for asking about our girl. Abby had been doing OK until this morning. She was crying out and restless. I gave her a little more pain meds and she settled down after that. She seems to be OK now. She is a real trooper. The lump on her shoulder is getting a little bigger already. We are keeping a close watch on her.
Don and I are both upset but we are doing everything we can for her and trying to keep her happy.

We can only imagine what you and Don (and Ace, and Miss Fancy!) are going thru. Just know, we are all thinking of you and sending lot's of support you're way. Many hugs indeed! You've been quiet on the board, which worries me, please - when you can, keep us updated. Lot's of love coming your way,,,Martha

We're keeping you in our thoughts as well. Lost our first grey, Deva to OS in the right shoulder as well. Such a horrible disease! You are all troopers facing this head on and enjoying the time Abby has. She is a beautiful girl and lucky to have you loving and looking out for her. Danielle
