Bill --- just when we got a new hauler!! We haven't picked "Ellanore" up yet, but she's going to make her trek home this coming week. Then we hae to start work on outfitting her with the crates, A/C and such. You've done so much for us over the years, and introduced us to so many folks. Words just can't say "THANK YOU" quite enough. You're loved all over Canada and down here in the South, and by thousands of hounds.
Heather - stay strong! With you taking over the reins, we have faith in you and look forward to seeing you again!! I know it's overwhelming, but you can do it. You have a great mentor in Bill. Please keep in touch and let us know how Bill is. Don't give him too hard of a time, and when you do, you can always blame it on the Alabama folks <GRIN>
FYI - if you can't tell - y'all are loved quite a lot by us down here!

Words are never enough when expressing thanks. Without Bill and GRA we would never have known 3 soon to be 4 wonderful greyhounds and what a loss that would have been. Take care Bill, and thank you Heather for taking over the helm of this amazing dog rescue.

Bill, we can't thank you enough for all you've done to bring two wonderful hounds into our lives and 3,000 others to their forever homes. You introduced us to the love of the greyhound breed and we are forever grateful. Thank you for your selfless dedication to finding homes for these wonderful companions. Please enjoy every moment of your retirement.
And to Heather, thank you for taking over the reins of GRA. You had a hand in introducing us to Thunder, a perfect fit for our home. Thank you!!! I know you'll be successful. Please know you have a lot of supporters here.

It is always hard when the captain of the ship steps down, but everyone deserves to enjoy their retirement. So I am sure that Heather will be amazing at running GRA. We are all so grateful to you Bill for the joy you have brought us and the pups that have gone through your hands. You have spent so much time and energy doing this great job you can now sit back and relax knowing everything is in good hands.
Thank you Bill for every joyous moment you have given so many people and pups.

Each day I look at my very first dog and greyhound "Ariat" I am so thankful for Bill and GRA. I waited 50 years to make the jump from pet cats and rabbits to a dog. This wonderful, gentle soul, who is now part of my life ... Wow!!! He is wonderful in so many ways. I hope I can give back a fraction of what Bill did for these dogs in the years to come. Thank you so much Bill! -Sandra & Jeff from St. Catharines

So sorry to hear Bill is not well - certainly not the way for such a hard working, good hearted man to start retirement. I would also like to thank you Bill for everything you have done to help so many Canadians enrich our lives by spreading the word of adopting greyhounds. You and Heather both taught me so much when I was a volunteer at GRA and have blessed me with 3 very special Broodies over the past 6 years. Thank you to Heather for taking the baton pass. You have our full support and I know we will all pitch in any way we can - just let us know what needs to be done. God bless you both.

I am just reading this now, but we are so saddened to hear about Bill's health. Over the years, Lewis and I have gotten to know Bill (along with several other volunteers), and know how deeply he cares for the dogs. All I have to say, Bill, from the bottom of our hearts is thank you. Thank you for introducing us to this fantastic breed, and for all you've done for the dogs over the years. Because of you, we will always have at least one. Please get well soon, and please take the time now to care for yourself. You deserve that.
Heather, all the best to you as you take over GRA. I wish we were closer to help, but we know that the kennel is in the right hands. You'll be fantastic in your new role.

I don't know what happened to Bill.. Always knew his knees were untrustworthy however. I have had 2 bounces this year There was my Picles, then Blackie (dont ask for kennel names, forget them). There was so much love and bonding so fast that they both had big separation anxiety issues here. I had each for about 3 months, and I fell deeeep in love with them in such a short time. I haven't gotten a replacement since, and am wanting to. Heather, how can I get in touch with you privately here, or by phone? My email address is Darren.Miller@mail.com. Thanks muchly (bridge Angel 'Honey' 2000-2012)
