Sherlock vs. wind!

So Sherlock has recently learned how to play with toys, he especially likes this stuffed fox even though he already ruined the sqeakers in it. Him and Watson even play tug of war and Sherlock is very gentle not to pull too hard on his 12 pound brother. The newest game he plays is throwing his own toys and running to get them. So my three daughters and I were out in the backyard yesterday, they were swinging and trampolining, I was trying to wear out dogs as we were leaving for a few hours for a school event. Sherlock was throwing his toys and racing around the yard. My rules with the girls when Sherlock is running is they have to freeze when I tell them, Sherlock cuts it close but does always dodge them, if they try to dodge him they might get run over. So Sherlock was running particularly fast, stopping only to throw a toy, I yelled "Freeze" as he was doing another lap and Sherlock picked up an umbrella found in the grass and threw it hard! It went flying towards my oldest daughter who luckily ducked and Sherlock launched over her head and caught he umbrella!!! It was hilarious!! My daughters (5, 7, and 8 yrs) have discussed it and have decided to stay on the trampoline behind the safety net when Sherlock is playing from now on

Oh how hilarious. Your daughters must think Sherlock is the weirdest dog they have ever seen. I have one of those houndies too ... who loves to fling things in the air and catch them as they fall back to earth. That would be Frankie. At least, our boys are good at entertaining themselves.

My girls actually find Sherlock quite lazy in comparison to Watson who is busy all day, Sherlock plays in spurts for like 5 minutes at a time and then figures he's earned a two hour nap lol. My girls at first were scared when he ran (i feel a little fear is a good thing though at first) now they are pretty calm when he's "in a mood" lol Although like I said they do tend to high tail it to the trampoline so they don't get clunked with anything!
