I find it adorable that Zuloo is such a collector! A few times a day I have to rescue all the fluffy things she has decided to collect (my daughter's stuffies, slippers, socks, and other random household items) from her bed! She is quite the roacher too! It doesn't take much for her to get comfortable!
Any other collecting hounds?

oh yes...Merlin especially likes Mommy's shoes and slippers, Tiana steals both kids" stiffies (and I regularly send out "kidnapping attempt" texts and emails to the kids and DH detailing her escapades when they aren't home), and Rio stole my bra when she first came home ( ?)

Of my four, I have two very busy collectors. I swear that Willy has a shoe fetish. He will even wait for you to take your shoes off so he can carry them away. Sometimes I find them all standing neatly in the living room, other times, all lined up in his bed. And Tuketi, this is a result of Frankie getting in my yarn.

lol...I had forgotten about the yarn!!! I recently decided it was time to start crocheting again after a long hiatus following shoulder surgery, and got out my bag of yarn to start rolling balls in preparation...turned around to look for my pattern books, and there was Willy and Merlin head first in the bag choosing their colours, prancing into the living room with their new toys, and throwing them around the room! I so wish I had the battery on the camera charged! And I thought crocheting with kitties was a challenge! HA!
BTW, Frankie....you are priceless...I remember that picture very well...maybe that was your way of telling Mommy she needs to knit you a new hat??? lol...

I can really understand how our houndies love the soft yarn balls ... after all, they do resemble stuffies. I now find that I have to keep the yarn under "lock and key" as it's just too tempting to have fun with.
I've now got this funny picture in my mind of Merlin and your Willy raiding the yarn bag thinking their Mommy has been holding out on them ..... "what's this ... a bag of stuffies".

Sally is more of a scavenger than a collector. She does have a fondness for my slippers - currently I have two pairs and I'm missing one slipper from each pair. She has stolen a box of 64 crayons from her human brother's room, numerous stuffies, shoes, and the odd sandwich I'm making when my back is turned. All of the items are placed in her crate! She'll even lay on the items to hide them. Crazy girl!

That boot photo really cracked me up. Wow.
Crafty is a collector of toys and sometimes vegetables. She will put all of them in her bed, regardless of how soft or hard they are. Like Sally, go figure, she will lay on them.

Velvet is our resident shoe/boot collector. She has a particular fondness for any footwear that furry or made of leather, and thank goodness she doesn't chew them, just moves them around to her bed, our bed, or the spare room. The rate of shoe movement seems to depend on how much exercise she's had: take her for a long walk and maybe only a couple of shoes will move. Procrastinate on her morning walk and the shoes start migrating rapidly!

My Scully collects his toys. But they have to be in certain places. Only certain ones get to go out. Others have to stay on his bed, others get to come out and visit when we have company. He really puts on a good show when that happens, tossing, squeaking and shoving the toy in peoples laps, then grabbing it and dashing away when they try to touch it. It's quite funny when it's people who don't know greys. They can be freaked out quite easily and I think he knows it. After he has scared them he goes and lays down and goes to sleep like the perfect dog.

Oh Zuloo what entertainment you provide! My first grey was a super collector. Chicky preferred slippers, sandals, flip-flops, cat toys and certain stuffies. Nothing was ever harmed but some days I would come home from work and her bed would be loaded down with "treasures". My current grey, Buffy, does not participate as actively in this ritual but occasionally a cat toy will be in her bed.

My Annie is quite a little thief...she steals socks, shoes, underwear and bras....doesn't harm them, but if something disappears i always know where I will find them!...Beenee has a dog dish fettish...she carries around the two dog dishes with her and i always know i will find them on her cushion where she likes to lay.

Ghost carries around the cat beds. I have 3 cat beds and I'm always putting them back. Will be watching TV and in comes ghost carrying the cat bed. It's kinda funny because the one is fairly big and you see this long skinny head, ears perked up with a big fluffy cat bed hanging from his mouth. Love him to bits

What odd behavior! I wonder if Boudica will collect stuff. Is collecting a characteristic of hounds in general, or is it just a greyhound thing?
