Ow!!!!! While you're at the vet, they could cut her nails for you. I have the vet tech cut Summer's every 3 weeks or so (my closeup vision isn't good enough any more).

If it's popping in and out that easily, the tendon/ ligament is stretched. Not a whole lot to be done about that at the vets other than surgery, which isn't always successful either. We've used therapaws to help keep toes from dislocating with some success. See if icing 5 minutes on, 5 off allows you to slip it back in again. Rhus Tox is your friend, if you can get some - health food stores, oand some Loblaws Superstores carry homeopathics. 3 pellets wcrushed between 2 spoons, 30 minutes away from food and you'll see improvement. Don't let her out unless she's on leash for at least 2 weeks but 4-6 is usually recommended. Thanks for the advice. I will look for Rhus tox today when I'm out. The toe takes no effort at all to pop back in, its almost to easy. I'm worried the ligament might be stretched out. I know for certain it happened going down the stairs yesterday and unfortunately she cant avoid them because of our house set up. Where can you buy therapaws from?

Sorry to hear you are still dealing with this. I hope you find a fix for sweet Corinna.

Well Corinna is back from the vets. What I thought was a dislocated toe was actually two broken bones in the same toe. The vet wants to keep a splint on it for at least 4 weeks maybe longer. Surprisingly she still isn't acting all that sore on it. This dog amazes me she does the GSOD hen you accidentally bump in to her but she has a broken toe and she hardly flinches.
Karen, will the Rhus tox help with broken bones?

No, get Symphytum instead, it's a great help in mending bones.

OH NO! Poor Corinna! Give her a big hug for me! I hope she's OK soon. Gigi's the same way as Corinna, anything major...nothing...blade of grass between two toes...crying and holding her paw up for blade removal. Crazy hounds! But still...give her that hug, C.

MAY 2015 Now it is RAIN'S turn for a dislocated toe!! Last week she started to limp on the foot where she had to have a toe removed last year as it was totally useless and was going through the skin and making her bleed. Anyway, she looked like she was giving the Vulcan Salute "V". I manouvered it gently and it popped right back into place - then stabilized it with VetWrap. We took her to the vet on Tues, and he stated there was really nothing he could do - just keep her foot wrapped and walking ONLY for six weeks and hope the ligaments shrink. This is what we are doing and she is OK - just hope we can keep her bandaged for 6 weeks. Unfortunately she absolutely loves to run We do have a small outdoor crate we could put her in in the daytime - before she goes totally crazy as she just loves to run. Please send her your best wishes, especially since she just LOVES to gallop.
