Oh I am so sorry that that happened to you. No one hates you. I am afraid I totally understand your pain. I had a hell of a time getting my hubby to agree to get Lexie. He loves her but did not want a dog. It was very hard. So I can imagine what you went through. Ticker will be ok. It is you that is going to hurt for a while. Your story brings up issues for me. I feel so much pain when you say that your husband made you take him back. That makes me so angry but that is my own issues. I really feel for you. HUGS HUGS HUGS My email is in my profile if you would like talk further. June

Another thought. You do have Dotty and you can lavish more love on her. That is what I do. She sounds like a darling like my Lexie. It is so hard to have one. I know. June

Hi There,
I'm soooo sorry to here about your situation with Ticker. He will be ok, and he will find a loving home. Sometimes, you instantly become attached to a dog after meeting him/her just one time. It's part of the allure of the breed. Don't be too hard on yourself.. No one here is going to judge you because you became attached to a dog!!
Feel better!!!!

Dear friends, Thanks for all of the support, encouragement, and empathy!! I was certain that I was going to be "flamed" -- deservedly, I might add. You guys are super!! Maybe greyhounds just attract a nicer, kinder, more caring breed of people?!? Thanks for not beating me up. I'm doing a pretty good job of that myself. Next time (and I hope there will be a next time!) I will make absolutely certain that my husband is on board before I set sail. I hope that all can forgive me for my misguided enthusiasm that led to a dreaded "bounceback". And I pray that this won't affect Ticker's chances for finding a new home -- this "return" should certainly NOT be counted against him. He's an adorable softy -- a complete marshmallow, a big lovable clown!! I'm slowly starting to return to the Forum -- self-inflicted singed tailfeathers in tow. Or should I stick to dog metaphors and say my tail is still firmly tucked between my legs?!? Thanks for making my "comeback" possible and painless. LOL, Anna and Dotty

I am sooo sorry to hear about Ticker. He looks like such a sweetie. I've been avoiding the site lately because two is enough for a one bedroom appartment and I just know that if I look I'll want another.... I went thru a similar incident with my first grey. We adopted Aunt LeeLee, whom I see has been returned.. I feel in love the moment my eyes met hers. But we had some issues with her. She was quite vicious towards our cat and she had some possession issues with me. She was agressive towards my husband. Taking her back was the hardest thing I have ever done. I almost wasn't going to get another grey. Its hard watching them go.....
