"Regardless of how you feel about puppies and kittens, there should be no debate between cats and dogs: A fully grown cat is like that really weird kid in high school. It keeps to itself, treats any effort on your part to befriend it with contempt, and thinks it's better than you even though it smells like cat piss and shits in a box." - unknown

lol. This pretty much sums up my opinion of cats. Also...
"Dogs come when you call. Cats ask you leave a message and they'll get back to you when they can"

Sounds about right, lol
Ive heard that dogs are like young children they want to be around you all the time, cats are like teenagers they're only around when they need something.

That's funny D! But I have to say that's not so true about Maine Coons (I know you have one too) - they are much more doglike than any other cats. I've been home sick today any my 2 cats (and Chicky) have been by my side all day. Now if I could only get one of them to make me a cup of tea!

Hmmm, works differently here -- my 4 cats ALL come when called and Lady Jayne, my Bengal, has to have her teeth flossed everyday. Even have pictures to prove it. Michel, on the other hand, will come when called sometimes if she feels like it, often she doesn't feel like it especially if there is no food involved. Call out treats and all 5 come runnin'. If I expect Michel to pass her evaluation for a Therapy Dog I think I have to work on her recall a bit more.

Now if I could only get one of them to make me a cup of tea! ahh yes my coon cat Booger is half on my shoulder and half on my lap/keyboard (butt in the air) trying to get on my lap but since i am a terrible mummy i won't let him on my lap. Booger follows me around like a dog but I agree that's just normal coon cat behavior. My mothers cat only comes when the can opener calls her the rest of the time she seems to have a "screw you humans" attitude (the cat not my mum). I also like the saying that dogs have masters and cats have employees

Employees get PAID! Cats have SLAVES. (We have 4 who expect everything to be THEIR way.)
