SO LONG FOR NOW .... Mary aka C’mon Marry Me, March 21,2006 – August 12, 2015
You and I sat outside this early morning and watched the first rays of daylight together, you were resting peacefully and I was wondering what the day would have in store for you. Your journey with our family began in September 2009. Chosen by my grandson, Alex, you were the precious gift to Willy and I who were mourning the loss of Angel and Ollie. Instantly, Willy fell in love with his sweet Mary, how the two of you would spend hours playing, cuddling and sleeping side by side. You truly were a blessing to both of us as our lives began to move forward and heal once again. Over the years, you welcomed Johnny, Frankie and Little Olive into your life and accepted them as your family. But of course, they had to learn the “Mary Attitude” in order to survive in this household. It was always about you and your rules such as being first to check out the empty food bowls for a crumb, demanding your walk first, getting the front seat of the car, staring down Johnny to take his warmed up sofa spot and being the first outside every morning by 0530 to enjoy the fresh morning air and sunrise, but oh my how you despised the winter. You were a mentor for Little Olive, allowing her to hang out with you, showing her the ropes of the backyard and teaching her to learn what an attitude can do for you. But for all your quirkiness, you were the true greyhound ambassador, loving everyone you met, always smiling and wiggling your butt, and so joyful and happy in your retirement years.
My wish now is that find your brothers and sisters at the Bridge, Angels Luke, Tanner, Angel, Ollie, and Frankie and all the beautiful Angels that have gone before you.
Sweet Mary, we have shared and celebrated greyt times over these 6 years, you have been my sunshine on dark days and my happy hound when I was sad. Your bubbly nature and feisty attitude will be forever in my heart. You were so loved and cherished ... I hope you knew that. This isn’t “goodbye” but “so long for now” .... Godspeed my beautiful Mary ... Sweet Little MaryMary & Willy - the Love Affair!!The Princess & the Pea .....Mary in all her glory!! NOT!!Celebrating a birthday with a yogurt party! Left to right: Little Olive, Angel MARY, Willy and Johnny
So long Mary ... until we meet again!!

Shari, we are so sorry. Greyt story and photos of your Mary. You gave her the best retirement a hound could have and she left much too soon, but will never be forgotten! Run free Mary, with all the angels at the bridge.

Oh my goodness these photos capture Mary's personality so well. What a wonderful soul. She was truly blessed to have found you and spend her retirement in your care. It is so evident from the pictures and your tribute how much you loved her. I hope you and the rest if the pups are coping. Take care of yourself. The entire greyhound community feels the loss of one of these special pups and we are grieving with you. Barb

I am so very sorry. Mary was such an icon in my heart. Thank you for sharing her via your posts here on the Forum. Such a sweet and gentle girl of determination. I will remember her wistful look perched on her bed in the sunshine. She had as full and as loving a home and life as one could ever ask for... because of you. Take good care... she will always, always be with you.
Godspeed sweet Mary XXOO

Oh no! I am so very sorry. She had so much character and I loved seeing her photos on the Forum. She had to leave much too soon.
Godspeed Mary.

Run free Mary. You couldn't have asked for a better retirement and you definitely had the greytest family.
