Sunday will be a year since we lost Max to cancer. In some ways it feels like yesterday but in others it feels like an eternity. In time, you start to forget all of the little quirks that make them special and Max had a LOT of quirks. I miss seeing his one ear up in the rearview mirror whenever we’d go somewhere in the car. He ALWAYS had one ear up. I miss the times when he used to get scared of thunderstorms or fireworks and run upstairs to our room because he felt safest there. I miss seeing his contorted upside-down body on our couch fast asleep. He loved his beauty rest. I miss the way he used to find something in the grass that smelled good to him and he would start rubbing his face and roll around in it. I miss getting woken up in the middle of the night to Max doing his air-horn impression at top volume. Most of all we miss his cuddles, he was a very sweet and affectionate boy. Max - you were one of a kind and we are so happy to have had you in you in our lives, we’ll never forget you. Rest in peace buddy.

Rest in Peace Max. I can't believe it has been a year already. Very touching tribute, I'm sure he still has one ear up watching over you guys.

Lovely tribute for your special boy. I must say I smile each and every time I see your avatar. Something about Max really touched my heart. Hang on to all those wonderful quirks of his to keep you smiling through the missing. Thoughts are with you Sunday.

What a beautiful touching tribute to your sweet boy. I'll always remember that one straight ear up on Max ... he looked like he only had one ear. Keep his quirky memories close to your heart. My thoughts will be with you on Sunday.

Hi Jason: What a beautiful tribute to your boy Max and to-morrow is his first anniversary and I want you to know that he is safe in the arms of Jesus with all the other GRA Angels. You are so right when you mentioned that it feels like "yesterday" and I agree with you whole heartedly. Max left you his loving heart for you to treasure and he also took a piece of yours to comfort him.

I smiled at all the 'I miss' as I know how this feels having lost many dogs myself.
It hurts. The hurt does ease over time. You are doing so well in remembering all the wonderful things about Max. His face is so beautiful and full of character.
