We miss reading about what your greyhound is up to on these very cold days. As you know we have lost both our beautiful greys within 9 months of each other and I am not only saddened by losing them, but sad that we can't read to what all the other greys are doing as there doesn't seem to be too much action here anymore. Liza use to lay beside me when I worked on the computer (especially when I was on the GRA website) and I would read what the other pups were up to - especially the sound affects - if there was a posting of one of the greys "rooing" as that sure sparked her interest!!! Also, I would tell her what pup just found his/her Forever Home. So, if you have a moment, my Angels and myself would love to read as to what your greyhound is doing - as it gives us so much comfort.

I can't even imagine what you are feeling without any greys in the house. I am sure Gable and Liza are looking down on you wishing they could heal your heart. Finn and Tarra send hugs. T and Finn aren't up to much as the photo can attest to. Although in their defense this is them recovering from the Downtown Hounds get together that someone organized in Toronto. I think there were a total of 23 pups that attended. Lots of butts for Tarra to sniff. Hope the pic makes you smile

I am having difficulty with Photobucket right now, but as soon as I get it working, I have some greet pics to upload! Miss TIana has been stealing cookie boxes, we have had an infestation of roaches of all shapes and sizes, and Willy-Bear has rediscovered the couch again! And did I mention that the Quints have been rooing to Alex playing his flute? Never a dull moment with 5 in the house....

Connie, trixie and Lucky never did get to meet the angels : ( The three are suffering from some winter blues now, they look forlorn and are reluctant to go outside. On days when there is bright sunshine they think its summer and ask to go to the park : ) that changes quickly once we go out. T-shirts at home, fleece jackets outside and sometimes double jackets for Trixie & Connie.

It's pretty tough this time of year when everything is icy. Hard to keep the puppers occupied!
We've been having singalongs at Camp Greyhound. The resident counselors along with the campers very much enjoy this activity.

Joker and Light are not too happy with all the get-on gear (coats, boots, etc.) of the season. They dilly-dally when it comes time to dress and go. Surprisingly they do enjoy it once outside, and only on the really cold days do we cut our walks short. Other than that, it is snoozing in the sun when available, and having the odd indoor zoomie together. (I am amazed at how they can make use of small areas to play together ). The picture you posted of Gable and Liza is so very bittersweet. I know it makes you ache to touch them, and to cuddle and hug them once more. But the same picture can reassure you of how they now are running together again and sharing the love for each other that you gave to them by bringing their lives together. As they run I'm sure they think of you. They will always love you and be with you in spirit. Joker and Light send you hugs and hope that maybe someday, as you mentioned in your post, you will find it the right time to love again. I know Gable and Liza will guide you.

So very sorry for your losses. Your pups were beautiful - thanks for sharing their pics :-) The Duchess is not a fan of the cold weather. She's been catching up on her beauty sleep... She also spends a lot of time in a snit, as only she can do... And other times she just exists to remind me of how cute she is and how lucky I am to have her :-)

Booker is doing well! I haven't uploaded the pictures yet, but I got some wonderful shots of the most escaped tongue I've ever seen on him - even better than the one I have for my icon at the moment!
He's been learning some new tricks, but we have to keep training sessions short, because he gets overexcited and unfocused, and tries to do all the tricks at once. Silly dog! We're trying to teach him names (go get Julian), but he doesn't seem to understand that one yet... so training practice consists of me yelling "go get Julian" and then pelting treats towards where Julian is sitting. And he's still trying to figure out stuffies, even after a year of retirement! I took the eyes off a sheep plush that he kept stealing, and he was enamored with it for a while, but he seems to have lost interest in it. It's a shame, since it was wonderful to see him get excited when it came out!

Karen, just so you know, Merlin saw fit to bark his fool head off to your rooing video, the others bolted up out of a dead sleep,a nd Tiana came running downstairs from her crate. I think they are all saying "hello" to you and yours! lol!

lottsfreetime - that is exactly what both Gable and Liza use to do when I put on a caption with the "rooing" effect - music to my ears!!! and Duchess has such a beautiful collar - it just suits her name and personality - and thank you everyone for the thoughtful posts - sure helps the healing process.

We've been doing a lot of hibernating these days. Too cold for walks, and even if it's warm out, we can't get into town to walk due to the snow falling or blowing (we live out in the country and for our safety, we choose not to walk the highway).
Beam loves his tennis balls so we regularly throw them around the house to keep him entertained. He also enjoys running the fenceline chasing our neighbours (their driveway runs along behind and beside our property). Lately, the neighbour's "walks" have been up and down their driveway with their kid in a sleigh. I think they enjoy driving Beam crazy because they seem to only do it when he's outside. LOL
Mo still doesn't have a whole lotta fat on her, not that we'll ever see her "fat" again due to her health condition, but she's tolerating the cold a bit better than this time last year. She prefers to go out, potty, then run back in and beat the boys to the slumberball, or steal "Daddy's" recliner.
Uber's eyesight is starting to fail him, so he's being much more cautious. Hard to believe he'll be 13 next month. But he still keeps up with Beam and Mo, and has chosen to take over the spot of cantankerous old fart (his "brothers" before him held this position, so it only seems natural he seat the throne) and also fun police. Heaven forbid someone get playing a little too boisterously. In the yard, his theory has become bark first, then listen to hear if anything responds. I think he likes to get the neighbour's dogs and the residents at the boarding kennel down the road going. I'm waiting for the day that he does this and gets the local coyotes going.
