Well, with much sadness, we returned Apollo to GRA today - he was just not working out. He would not settle and Gigi really started to get wound up. He is a very loving dog and will make a great pet for some family just not ours unfortunately I cried all the way down Daniel Road.

Big Hugs Sue! You did the right thing for Gigi, your family and most of all, Apollo. He obviously wasn't the right fit and like you said, he will find a great home. Don't beat yourself up...you tried to give him a good home but it didn't work out. It happens but to keep him in an unhappy place would not be good for anyone. Bill will look after him

I feel sooo badly for you and your family Sue! It really seems (from your previous posts) that you really did try to do everything you could to settle him in, make sure his constant peeing wasn't a physical problem, etc. He does seem like a really sweet boy, and he will find a great home. Hope you feel better soon

Big Hugs, Hon.
Your home was just not the home for him. It happens. You know yourself, that even Gigi was having trouble, too. Sometimes a fit is perfect, sometimes it's not. You tried Darned hard to make it work. I have to say I'm proud of how you stuck it out! You should be too.

thanks for the words of support!! They are much appreciated Gigi is already turning back into her old self - a very happy, playful hound - who we lost in the last 9 weeks The house in general is quieter and more peaceful - which is a good thing right now

Hi....we are Apollo's new parents. We want you to know that Apollo is in good hands. He is adjusting well, so far. No accidents yet. We've had him for a week. This is our first greyhound. We had to put our beloved Doberman down a couple of months ago. We are avid dog lovers. We have a three month old baby and our vet told us to adopt a greyhound if we wanted to get another dog. Any advice would be welcome . He is a SWEETIE. We played for the first time..I think that he is trusting us more and more each day. Again, please let us know how to help Apollo adjust. Thanks.

I'm terribly sorry to hear about your Doberman (I also have always had dobermans and have one now!). Congrats on adopting Apollo and it's good to hear things are going well. Like Jiffer said, lots of good information here and people that can give you advice if you need it. Bill is also a good source if you have worries or concerns.
