We plan to do a "sweep" of the area tonight around dinner time. Anyone in the Toronto area wants to join?

I'll try to get out and help but can't promise. It's quarter end and very busy at work.

If you're searching this weekend (hopefully it won't be necessary), please let me know. I'm available Saturday and Sunday.

Update from Julie:

The last time I spotted him was yesterday around 11-ish. He's a brindle (black/Tan/white) and doesn't appear to have a collar. Very skittish and wouldn't come. He seemed to be staying on the sidewalk and just going around and around the block of Mortimer/Inwood/Donmore/Memorial Park. I think the first time I'd seen him trotting along the sidewalk was either Sunday or Monday.

Update:

We met up with Sam and her three brindles and with Cindy, who was the grey person who started the alert, and we walked around the neighbourhood for an hour. It was cold and wet and not many people were out. However, we talked to several dog owners and handed out some business cards in case there is another sighting.

We actually met Julie who reported the sighting to the Toronto Humane Society. She confirmed that the dog she saw, looked like our Pasha, dark brindle, but with a differently shaped head.

We'll try again tomorrow. The dog, if still out, was likely hiding somewhere safe and dry.

Hey guys,
Glad that you were able to go out looking and possibly gain some more info on the poor guy. Tomorrow is going to be rainy again so who knows if he(or she) will be easy to spot. I'd like to come out if I can tomorrow to help - I may have to go up to my grandmothers but if not I'll be there.. I'll have to drive and am not too familiar with the area so if u could pm me with where/what time you guys are going to meet up I'll let you know asap.
I wish I coulda have come today, but I just wasnt up for it after dealing with credit companies and banks and whatnot after my identity was stolen and $800 bill againt my name racked up.. FUN!
K let me know!

People are planning to return to the area this evening to search again.

I'm planning to go tomorrow morning. If you can help tomorrow (April 28), let's plan to meet at Mortimer and Donlands at 11:00 a.m.

I will continue to update as I learn more from this evening's search party.

Robin met me at Mortimer and Donlands this morning. Phoenix and Loca led our search party and we walked the neighbourhood for 2+ hours.

The area is very residential and very quiet. We spotted a number of places where the dog could hide at night or during the day.

We met many people who confirmed they had spotted the dog and said the dog looked "just like them" pointing at Loca and Phoenix except he was "striped". I think it's safe to say we're dealing with a missing greyhound.

The latest confirmed sighting was yesterday, around 4:00 p.m. on Wiley. The woman who spotted him said he looked "confused" but friendly. Just sat on the sidewalk outside a new house.

One couple we met were actually going back to continue their search. They assured us they will keep looking until the dog is found. Another woman is going to start putting "stinky" canned food in her backyard in an effort to capture the dog.

We need to continue looking. The dog is out there. We just need to find him.

I'm willing to print flyers and Robert (DBF) and I will post them in the neighbourhood tomorrow. Robert has volunteered the use of his cell phone number and will be on high alert for any phone calls.

If anyone can search tomorrow, please let me know.

Special thanks to Robin, Loca and Phoenix for making the journey into Toronto to help me look. I really appreciated the company and the help.

That was a very positive search day. We were ready to give up after yesterday. I guess we were searching too far North. Maybe we can get some more people together after our usual Norwood get-together tomorrow.

I won't be at Norwood tomorrow. If you can organize a search tomorrow after the run that would be great.

I'll be in the area mid to late afternoon with flyers.
